Loup County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 632,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/31/31115.html )〕 making it the fifth-least populous county in Nebraska and the tenth-least populous county in the United States. Its county seat is Taylor.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 The county was named after the Pawnee Loup Indians. In the Nebraska license plate system, Loup County is represented by the prefix 88 (it had the eighty-eighth-largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922). ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.5%) is water.
